ICON
ICON, a refereed journal of about 200 pages, is published
once a year and contains mainly, but not exclusively, revised versions
of papers given at ICOHTEC Symposia.
ICOHTEC intends to continue to be a forum for discussing the topics
in the history of technology. But it also hopes to devote special
attention to the discussion of present-day problems of technology and
their relationship to socio-economic, political, environmental, and
cultural issues.

Aims and Scope:
ICON is the annual journal of ICOHTEC, an international organization for
the history of technology. In line with the aims of ICOHTEC, ICON provides
a forum for the discussion of relevant issues in the history of technology.
Emphasis is placed on international technological relationships, with
the aim of fostering co-operation amongst scholars from all parts of the
world. ICON comprises mainly, but not exclusively, refereed papers based
on research presented at ICOHTEC symposia. It covers all aspects and periods
in the history of technology, but devotes special attention to the discussion
of contemporary problems of technology in their socio-economic and cultural
settings. A typical issue is about 220 pages long, contains ten to twelve
papers and comprises:
papers based on original research
specially invited papers on the history of technology and on
interdisciplinary
connections with other fields of research
conference reports
book and journal reviews
evaluation of technical museum exhibits
bibliographical reports
