A booklet on ICOHTEC 40th

ICOHTEC 1968 – 2008, edited by Wolfhard Weber. Bochum 2009.

For our symposium in Victoria, Canada, in 2008 ICOHTEC asked some members of the Board and the Executive Committee with a long experience to present personal reflections about our activities. Those presentations were supplemented by some other contributions for the International Congress of History of Science and Technology in Budapest, Hungary, in 2009. I gratefully acknowledge the help of James Williams and Hans-Joachim Braun in solving some problems in language editing.

ICON

ICON, a refereed journal of about 200 pages, is published once a year and contains mainly, but not exclusively, revised versions of papers given at ICOHTEC Symposia.
ICOHTEC intends to continue to be a forum for discussing the topics in the history of technology. But it also hopes to devote special attention to the discussion of present-day problems of technology and their relationship to socio-economic, political, environmental, and cultural issues.

Reports

The periodically published reports on the development of history of technology in the different countries. We begin with the history of technology in Finland; a report prepared by our secretary general Timo Myllyntaus and his collegues Tiina Männistö and Riikka Jalonen from the University of Turku. We encourage the members and sympathizers of ICOHTEC from other countries to present their reports here [click here].
