The international conference “History and Geopolitics of Nuclear Deindustrialization” will take place 11–12 June 2026 in Turin, Italy, bringing together historical, geopolitical, socio-environmental, cultural, and economic perspectives on the diverse trajectories of nuclear deindustrialization and their relevance for contemporary nuclear policies. Organized within the DENUCLIT (PRIN 2022) and GeoNuFE (ERC Starting Grant) research projects, the conference welcomes paper proposals on topics such as industrial restructuring, labor and expertise, decommissioning and waste management, post-nuclear landscapes and memory, governance, and the political geographies of nuclear infrastructures and supply chains. The conference will be in-person and held in English; abstracts are due 28 February 2026 and should be sent to nucleardeind.conf@gmail.com.
