The Center for the Humanities in Extended Reality (CHXR) at the Albert Dorman Honors College at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) seeks candidates to fill a Research Associate position. Candidates are expected to support all aspects of a research project, including developing an online digital platform, coordinating undergraduate research assistants, and providing organizational, writing, and project-management support for ongoing digital humanities initiatives. The Maritime and Naval Studies Program (MNSP), directed by Paul Kennedy, the J. Richardson Dilworth Professor of History and Global Affairs, will award one postdoctoral associate position starting in either fall semester 2026 or spring semester 2027. The MNSP postdoctoral associate must have a completed Ph.D. degree in a relevant before beginning the fellowship.  Faculty members at other institutions are eligible to apply if they have sabbatical leave funding and/or partial salary support that could be held concurrently with the fellowship. Centre College invites applications for a two-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of History, beginning in August 2026. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in History or related field by the time of appointment. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who are committed to undergraduate education, will contribute to the depth of our faculty, support our flourishing student body, and utilize a variety of pedagogical practices. We will consider any specialty but especially subfields in transnational, gender, African American, or Latin American histories or the history of science and technology. The University is now inviting applications and nominations for the post of Dean of Faculty of Humanities. The successful candidate should be qualified for appointment as Chair Professor, normally on regular terms in one of the constituent academic units of the Faculty, and will hold the Deanship on a concurrent basis.  The Deanship appointment is normally for an aggregate period of six years in two three-year terms of office, but with possibility of further extension dependent on individual merits and achievements. Competition for the 2026 Trevor Levere Prize (Annals of Science) is now open. This prize is awarded annually to the author of an original, unpublished essay in the history of science, technology, or medicine, which is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The prize, which is supported by Taylor & Francis, is intended for those who are currently doctoral students, or have been awarded their doctorate within the past four years. The Osler Library of the History of Medicine (McGill University, Montréal) is inviting applications for its 2026–2027 Research Travel Awards, supporting historians, physicians, graduate and postdoctoral researchers, and other scholars whose work engages with the history of medicine and requires on-site consultation of Osler Library collections (rare books, archives, artifacts). Funding is offered through several awards, including travel support up to CAD $5,000 (Bensley) and additional grants typically shared among a small number of visitors (Nickerson; Pivnicki), usually reimbursing travel-related costs. Applications are open until 16 January 2026, for research to be carried out in the following fiscal year.

The William L. Clements Library offers fellowships to help scholars access the Library’s rich primary source collections for research. A Fellowship Review Committee will assign successful applicants to a named fellowship as described below. The four broad categories are Long-term, Short-term, Week-long, and Digital fellowships. The application requires a selection of which type of fellowship you would like to be considered for and the duration you expect your research visit to take.
