Maritime and Naval Studies Program Postdoctoral Associate, Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs – Yale University

The Maritime and Naval Studies Program (MNSP), directed by Paul Kennedy, the J. Richardson Dilworth Professor of History and Global Affairs, will award one postdoctoral associate position starting in either fall semester 2026 or spring semester 2027. Centre College – Two-year Visiting Assistant Professor of History

Centre College invites applications for a two-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of History, beginning in August 2026. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in History or related field by the time of appointment. Trevor Levere Best Paper Prize

Competition for the 2026 Trevor Levere Prize (Annals of Science) is now open. This prize is awarded annually to the author of an original, unpublished essay in the history of science, technology, or medicine, which is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The prize, which is supported by Taylor & Francis, is intended for those who are currently doctoral students, or have been awarded their doctorate within the past four years. McGill University Osler Library Research Travel Awards (2026–2027)

The Osler Library of the History of Medicine (McGill University, Montréal) is inviting applications for its 2026–2027 Research Travel Awards, supporting historians, physicians, graduate and postdoctoral researchers, and other scholars whose work engages with the history of medicine and requires on-site consultation of Osler Library collections (rare books, archives, artifacts). Funding is offered through several awards, including travel support up to CAD $5,000 (Bensley) and additional grants typically shared among a small number of visitors (Nickerson; Pivnicki), usually reimbursing travel-related costs. Applications are open until 16 January 2026, for research to be carried out in the following fiscal year.

Apply for a Clements Library Fellowship

The William L. Clements Library offers fellowships to help scholars access the Library’s rich primary source collections for research. A Fellowship Review Committee will assign successful applicants to a named fellowship as described below. The four broad categories are Long-term, Short-term, Week-long, and Digital fellowships. The application requires a selection of which type of fellowship you would like to be considered for and the duration you expect your research visit to take.
